Who chooses what assets are inside AMKT

The Alongside Crypto Market Index ($AMKT) was created to passively track the crypto assets and enable anyone to “buy the market" without having to worry about portfolio management, day trading, and picking winners.

The Alongside Crypto Market Index ($AMKT) was created to passively track the crypto assets and enable anyone to “buy the market" without having to worry about portfolio management, day trading, and picking winners.

The AMKT index is made to be a passive tracker of the market. This means that the underlying components of the index are meant to track the market as closely as possible. For example: If the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap are 80% Bitcoin, 10% Ethereum, and 10% the rest, then the index will reflect similar proportions.

What are the inclusion & exclusion criteria for the index?

In order to ensure the index remains compliant and tracks the crypto market as closely as possible over the years, some inclusion and exclusion criteria for assets are defined. You can find the full list of these criteria on the crypto index documentation.

How are these criteria changed over time?

While the criteria are meant to mostly stand the test of time, some will need to change as the regulatory landscape and the crypto markets mature. As such, the criteria are defined and modified by the AMKT DAO. As a holder of the $AMKT token, you receive governance votes in these discussions.

How do I participate in the DAO?

As a holder of the $AMKT token, you receive governance votes to participate in the AMKT DAO. You can read more about the DAO here, and go to the governance website here. There is no separate governance token for AMKT, as the index token is also the governance vote.
